Vanessa Hurtado is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), fluent in Spanish and English
I specialize in working with children. I have training in several therapeutic approaches and identify as an eclectic therapist, drawing from many modalities to create a personalized experience that is suited to your child and family's needs. You can expect the incorporation of psychoanalytic, humanistic, cognitive behavioral, expressive art therapies, and more. Additionally, I like to incorporate the parents/guardians into the treatment and see it to be vital to the child's therapeutic progress. Through therapy, your child will be better able to identify and communicate their feelings, be equipped with scientifically backed coping skills, and improve emotional/behavioral regulation, and the parents will have the tools and knowledge to help their child in the process as well as in their future. Do you wonder how you can help your child? Do you feel as though your child could benefit from additional support? In general, if your child is dealing with extreme emotions like sadness, anger, stress and worry, low self-esteem, or grief, a mental health professional can help. You do not have to figure this out on your own. We are here to help.
Vanessa sees children ages 0-12 in the Riverside Office and through Telehealth.
